Caroline (Callie) Jacobs
I majored Visual Arts with a minor in Mathematics at Union College in Schenectady, New York. After interning Havas Chicago, I went on to Portfolio School at the Chicago Portfolio School. From there, I worked as an Art Director at Havas for three years. I am currently an Experiential Senior Art Director at FCB in Chicago.
I balance my professional art direction with personal creative work, such as hand lettering and calligraphy. This allows me to have some extra creative design time, and work on different artistic mediums. When I am not at work, you can find me at a writing class at Second City, exploring Chicago by bike, or playing with my puppy, Annie.
My creative approach—no matter the medium—is to find points of tension behind the idea I’ve been assigned or am interested in. I do several iterations on each point and usually end up refining the one I find most ground breaking.
